This program offers students and graduates entering the financial sector a simplified, practical methodology that enables them to read the main financial statements and understand their components, before progressing to analysis using recognized accounting and financial tools. Day One establishes a clear understanding of core accounting concepts, the assumptions and principles governing financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and then introduces participants to the four main financial statements: the balance sheet, the income statement, the cash flow statement, and the statement of changes in equity with a focus on reading each statement, understanding its line items, and grasping the relationships that connect them. The day concludes with a hands-on practical exercise using the actual financial statements of a listed Saudi company. Day Two focuses on financial analysis using its various tools: it opens with the concept of financial analysis, its users, and objectives, before participants apply horizontal analysis to measure year-on-year changes, vertical analysis to study proportional weights within statements, and calculate and interpret the main financial ratios across four categories: liquidity, profitability, efficiency, and leverage. The program concludes with an introduction to investment analysis covering payback period, net present value, and internal rate of return, reinforced by a comprehensive practical exercise on real case studies.
