The Saudi Capital Market Rules and Regulations exam (CME-1B) is a mandatory exam accredited by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) and delivered in partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), serving as an essential registration requirement across most CMA-regulated job categories. The exam spans eight chapters designed to establish comprehensive regulatory literacy across the Saudi capital market ecosystem, covering the market's regulatory structure, securities business activities, and licensing requirements; the regulatory obligations of capital market institutions, investment funds, offering rules, disclosure standards, and corporate governance; Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) provisions; the Capital Market Institutions Regulations; and the systems and controls framework governing management arrangements and conflicts of interest. Passing this exam, together with the International Introduction to Securities and Investment - (CME-1A), is a mandatory requirement for obtaining the Certificate in Introduction to Securities and Investment (CME 1). This certification also qualifies its holder to invest in the Parallel Market (Nomu), in accordance with CMA requirements.
