The Certified Broker (Registered Trader) Examination is a mandatory certification required by the Saudi Tadawul Group and administered by The Financial Academy. It is designed to assess candidates’ competency and readiness to perform brokerage functions within the capital market. The examination covers four main domains: the regulatory structure of the Saudi capital market and its investment instruments, the principles of brokerage practice including market conduct and regulatory oversight, trading and membership rules including short selling and securities lending, as well as daily trading operations and the use of the electronic trading system. The exam enables candidates to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of a broker’s responsibilities toward clients and the market, including order entry, routing, execution, modification, and cancellation, as well as trade types, disclosure obligations, and price fluctuation limits. Passing the examination ensures that candidates meet the required level of professional competence and regulatory knowledge, qualifying them to interact with the electronic trading system effectively and responsibly in accordance with applicable regulatory frameworks.
