The second edition of the distinguished program “Shaping the Future of Saudi Financial Media” concluded in the capital, Riyadh. The program was organized by the Financial Academy in strategic partnership with the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA), and in training partnership with Thohoor Media Company.
The program is the first of its kind in the Kingdom in the field of specialized financial media, responding to the growing need for media professionals capable of understanding, analyzing, and presenting economic data and indicators within a professional framework that balances accuracy with clarity — thereby contributing to enhanced transparency and market efficiency.
On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Alhamazany, Chief of the Capacity Development Sector at the Financial Academy, stated that this edition follows the remarkable success of the program’s inaugural cohort, which attracted 30 participants from leaders and practitioners across the financial and media sectors, including editors-in-chief, broadcasters, economic journalists, content creators, as well as investment and capital markets specialists. He affirmed that the program will contribute to improving the quality of financial information, developing local content, and localizing specialized expertise in financial media — all in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
For his part, Dr. Majed AlGhamdy, CEO of Thohoor Company, confirmed that the company’s participation as a training partner is a natural extension of its expertise in providing communication consulting for leaders, developing media presence skills, and building strategic messaging. He noted that advancing financial media requires developing both sides of the dialogue: the speaker who can convey messages clearly, and the media professional who can elicit, analyze, and communicate information with professionalism.
The program focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to cover economic and financial issues professionally. Its modules encompass the fundamentals of financial media coverage, macroeconomics and indicators, markets and securities, financial statements and results, as well as influential sectors such as green energy, petroleum, and the energy transition — among the most prominent economic files both locally and globally.
It is worth noting that the Financial Academy is an entity with an independent legal and administrative standing, organizationally linked to the Chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA). Its mission is to qualify, develop, and advance human capital in the financial sector by enhancing the knowledge, capabilities, skills, and culture of its professionals — including executive leadership and board members of financial sector institutions — and by contributing to the development of best professional practices. The Academy serves all entities within the financial sector, including banking, finance, insurance, and the capital market.
